STATUE

STATUE

August 26, 2017

Coming to New York City and taking the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty was an awe inspiring childhood memory. At that time you could climb all the way to the top. It was my first experience learning first hand about my ancestors and how they might have felt seeing that gigantic statue in their new land for the very first time. Her head was so big and it was embedded in my memory forever. I wanted to capture that feeling of bigness when I made this drawing. It was one of the original drawings that I produced on lots of products for my souvenir company Fifth Avenue Manufacturers. It represents my classic iconic style that is recognized all over the world. It is a wonderful keepsake for anyone who has visited New York City. I am glad to be able to offer it as a print.
